Chris SimpsonExercise Physiologist
Chris holds a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Leeds.

He is an Ironman Certified Coach and has completed an MSc in Sport & Nutrition Science from the University of Chester.

Chris is a member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Scientists and an Associate Member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Over the last 20 years Chris has developed his experience in cardio-pulmonary exercise testing, both in sports and exercise and well as the clinical setting. This includes studying in the UK with the Royal College of Anaesthetists and University of California Los Angeles.

Chris grew up playing Rugby League and basketball to representative level before making the switch to endurance sports. Over the next 30 years he competed in multiple Ironman, 70.3, Etape du Tour and marathons in addition to many other endurance events.

Over the last 20 years Chris has been actively been involved in coaching other endurance athletes, these include complete novice athlete to professional sportsmen and women.

Deirdre Woods

Deirdre Woods is a qualified CORU Registered Physiotherapist/Physicaltherapist working in the field for the last 16 years, prior to this she trained as an Operating Department Practitioner working in the anaesthetic and surgical field in the UK. She has extensive knowledge of the body from working in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery plus many more specialised areas.

Deirdre holds a BSc degree in Applied Science and Physical Therapy. She also gained the clinical excellence award in 2019. She has completed level 1 Neurokinetic Course.

She is frequently asked to speak to delegates at medical conferences in Ireland and Europe.

She also trained as a Sidas Poidatech technician and is the resident Biomechanical Specialist at the Leinster Sports Clinic. She has the qualification and experience of manufacturing orthotics on site, so the patient gets them at the same appointment to take home. This is quite unique in Ireland.

Deirdre is an Associate member of British Association of Sports & Exercise Medicine and is a full member of the IAPT.

She has worked with Premiership football teams, Super League Rugby teams, elite and non-elite endurance athletes’ professional golfers, Inter County GAA teams etc.

Deirdre is a keen athlete herself representing Ireland at the World Triathlon Championships in Lausanne in Switzerland and has completed many triathlons, marathons and cycle sportifs.

As a result of her background knowledge working with the world’s leading Orthopaedic specialist’s she has the advantage of this experience when treating her own patients.
