He holds an honours degree in Sports & Exercise Science from Leeds University and is also a Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
Chris has over 20 years experience conducting cardiopulmonary exercise testing with athletes ranging from novice to elite level, in addition to the clinical exercise testing which he has had the opportunity to study in the UK & USA.
Chris has been an active endurance athlete for more than 30 years, having completed numerous Ironman’s, half Ironman, marathons & Etape de Tour. Chris is a Certified Ironman coach and has coached and mentored many athletes over the years ranging from complete novices to experience elite athletes.
Chris regularly gives lectures and presentations to various clubs and societies, including the faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine at the Royal Collage of Physicians of Ireland.
She also trained as a Sidas Poidatech technician and is the resident Biomechanical Specialist at the Leinster Sports Clinic. Deirdre is an Associate member of British Association of Sports & Exercise Medicine and is a member of the Physical Therapist of Ireland .
She has worked with Premeirship football teams, Super League Rugby teams, elite and non elite endurance athletes professional golfers etc.
Deirdre represented Ireland at the World Triathlon Championships in Luasanne in Switzerland and has completed many triathlons, marathons and cycle sportifs.
As a result of her background knowledge working with the worlds leading Orthopaedic specialist’s she has the advantage of this experience when treating her own patients.
