
As a member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Scientists and an associate member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine, Chris is committed to advancing the field of exercise physiology. He has served as the resident Clinical and Exercise Physiologist at Beacon Hospital in Dublin for the past eight years, where he has successfully led the sports lab.
With over 25 years of experience, Chris has developed a deep expertise in cardiopulmonary exercise testing, both in sports and clinical settings. His education includes rigorous training in the UK with the Royal College of Physicians and the University of California, Los Angeles, where he completed all required examinations.
An accomplished athlete, Chris has a rich history in rugby league and basketball, representing his county before transitioning to endurance sports. Over the last 30 years, he has completed multiple Ironman races, 70.3 Ironman events, the Tour de France, marathons, and numerous other endurance challenges.
In addition to his personal achievements, Chris has played an active role in coaching endurance athletes, ranging from novices to elite professionals. Recently, he collaborated with colleagues at Beacon Hospital to publish three medical papers focused on CPET and cancer patients, further contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Her comprehensive expertise spans various specialties, including orthopaedic, general, vascular, cardiac and plastic surgeries. Deirdre holds a Bachelor of Science degree and was awarded a Clinical Experience Award in 2019. She further enhanced her qualifications with a Professional Certificate in Cardiac Physiotherapy Rehabilitation from University College Dublin, part of the National University of Ireland.
Deirdre is a sought-after speaker at medical conferences across Europe and Ireland, sharing her insights and knowledge with fellow professionals. She is also a trained podiatry technician and serves as the resident biomechanical specialist at the Leinster Sports Clinic. One of the unique services she offers is the on-site manufacture of orthotics, allowing patients to receive custom solutions during their appointments.
As an associate member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine and a full member of CORU, Deirdre has worked with premier football teams, Super League rugby teams, elite endurance athletes, professional golfers, and inter-county Gaelic Athletic Association teams.
An accomplished athlete herself, Deirdre has proudly represented Ireland at the World Triathlon Championships in Switzerland and has completed numerous 70.3 Ironman triathlons, marathons, and cycling events. Her background and experience working alongside some of the world’s leading orthopaedic specialists uniquely position her to deliver exceptional care to her patients.
